McNab’s Island

McNabs Island is the largest island at the entrance of Halifax Harbour, just a 10-minute ferry will get you there in no time! If you’re feeling adventurous beyond visiting the lighthouses, beaches, and watching wildlife this island is filled with a rich history worth exploring! From reports of ghosts to sea serpent sightings and tales of buried treasure, there is plenty to do during your day trip.

Long Lake Provincial Park

Take a walk along Long Lake Provincial Park for the perfect laid-back afternoon. Filled with beaches, picnic areas, hiking trails, and the soothing sounds of waves crashing against the shore there’s something for everyone!

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site

If it wasn’t for this historic site, there might not even be a Halifax to visit! Built back in 1749, the star-shaped fort overlooks the harbour and was essential in defending the land from the French military attacks. We recommend visiting right before sunset for stunning views of the city below.

Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21

Pier 21 was one of the major points of entry for many immigrants who travelled to Canada between 1928 and 1971. Today, it is Canada's last remaining ocean immigration shed and has since been turned into a museum to explore.
