New Year’s resolution inspiration for 2025

With so many potential New Year’s resolutions out there, we’ve come up with a list of a few to get the gears turning.

The New Year is here and with it brings new opportunities. Whether you’re looking to dive back into an old hobby of yours or pick up something entirely new, 2025 is the perfect time to do so. With so many potential New Year’s resolutions out there, we’ve come up with a list of a few to get the gears turning.

Become a book worm

An always-popular New Year’s resolution is start reading more. Getting lost classic series like the world of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, the Hunger Games, and more are a great way to disconnect from the digital world we live in. With books on topics for everything under the sun, reading is a great way to expand your vocabulary, reduce stress, improve focus and concentration, and provides mental stimulation.

Get in the gym

While books are a great way to work out the mind, exercise in general is another great New Year’s resolutions. With exercises for people of every level of fitness; from walking around the block, to setting personal records on bench press, laps around the pool, yoga, and Pilates, there’s something for everyone. Working out on a regular basis is a great way to not only shed some pounds, but provide a boost to your mood and energy, give you a better night’s rest, and can be great social activity. Gyms and local run clubs are chalk full of people with the same goals and ambitions.

Chef it up

Look, we love chicken and rice as much as the next person, but after the fourth time in five nights, it can get a little old. The New Year is a great opportunity to expand your palate and try new recipes and cuisines. There’s plenty of places to look at for inspiration with social media and cookbooks at your disposal. New Year is also a great time to spruce up the kitchen with new pots, pans, or decor to inspire you to spend more time there.

Make every dime count

New Year, new way to budget. Finances can be a tough topic to discuss, but the turn of the calendar is an opportune time to take a 30,000-foot view of your expenses and work on budgeting. The world is constantly getting more and more expensive, but that doesn’t mean you need to fall behind. With plenty of budgeting apps and advice available at your fingertips, 2025 can be the year you take that Europe vacation you’ve always dreamed of, get that new car, or move into your forever home. Budgeting doesn’t just have to mean restricting the money you spend. Maybe for you it’s examining what your priorities are and getting creative with cash-back and reward programs.

Sleep like a baby

The holidays are a hectic time for many. Between holiday parties, family dinners, Boxing Day shopping, and NYE, it can be hard to get the sleep you need to operate at peak efficiency. Sleep is an incredibly important aspect of a healthy life – mentally and physically. Starting the day with a great night’s rest gives you the boost you need to tackle the day and keep going all day long. The New Year gives you a chance to reevaluate your current schedule and find ways to prioritize sleep. Sleep is proven to help you maintain a healthy weight, reduce your stress, improve your ability to fight off sicknesses and boost productivity.

Some tips to help you get that recommended eight hours of undisturbed bliss is to establish a routine, minimise large meals prior to shut eye, keeping your room dark and quiet, and limiting blue light from phones and TVs before bed.

These are just a few ideas for New Year’s resolutions, but there are so many more things you can do in 2025 to make it your best year yet.

From everyone at Quarter to Five, we want to wish you a healthy, happy, peaceful, and prosperous 2025!
