Top 5 Ideas For Your Thanksgiving Leftovers
We know your fridge right now is just filled with all those turkey slices and yummy sides, so here’s what else you can do with them.
Nothing better than putting those leftover turkey slices to good use than for your lunch time meal. A turkey wrap is an easy way to spice it up and you can add in any leftover veggies, a little gravy, and of course some cheese.
Fried Mashed Potato Balls: what is better than mashed potatoes? Oh, that’s right, fried mashed potato balls. All you need to do is mix the leftover mash with your seasoning and ingredients of choices (bacon bites, cheese, chives, the list is endless). Mix well and then dredge the balls in your egg batter and then your breadcrumb or panko mix of choice. Heat up 3’’ of oil in a cast iron skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Turkey Soup: Another easy way to get rid of those turkey slices is by making a classic chicken noodle soup but with turkey! The recipe can be any of your favourite chicken noodle soup classics but just swap out the chicken for the turkey and you have yourself a heart, thanksgiving-themed soup.
Cranberry Meatballs: Everyone’s favourite side dish, that delicious cranberry sauce, needs some extra love after Thanksgiving. A great way is to make cranberry sauce meatballs. You can use any meatballs of choice (frozen or otherwise) and after they’re done cooking, mix them in the sauce that’s been reheated and voila!
Turkey Mac & Cheese: Now, we know you have A LOT of turkey leftovers, so what better way than to throw some turkey into a mac and cheese. Similar to the turkey soup, just use any classic mac and cheese recipe (this includes any boxed favourite, of course) and just stir in your leftover turkey slices (in bite size for, of course).
And, of course, none of these meals would be complete without a perfectly paired drink option. Considering we’re in our post-Thanksgiving funk, we’d suggest our Molson Ultra that pairs well with everything here, but especially the turkey soup and wraps. It's a light, refreshing drink that’s only 70 calories, 2g of carbs, and 3% ABV.
